Packed and corded, yellow umbrellas stand tall
No longer unfurled, summer’s welcomed the fall
Lunch tables now empty, no suntan to get
The ocean’s still calling, but I’m not getting wet
It’s much too chilly to hang out, on the beach
The warmer days are gone, they’re all out of reach
And the breeze off the water, is icy and cold
How dare you, dear autumn, must you be so bold?
No boats on the water, no seagulls flying high
Down at the shore, I watched summer flying by

With the joy of Autumn’s arrival, always comes the sad realization that summer is over. Nicely done Lady D ☺❤
