Mama heard noises, those sounds in the night
Growing much louder, they gave her a fright
Voices came calling, symphonies would play
Nowhere was an orchestra, much to mama’s dismay
No one to talk to, I think mama was cracked
But she insisted these noises, just keep coming back
Turns out she’s not crazy, not one little bit
The doctor, she said, put a finger on it
The music and voices, she heard them, quite clear
All on account of her musical ear
Musical ear syndrome (MES) describes a condition seen in people who have hearing loss and subsequently develop auditory hallucinations. (Google)

I like how you’ve tackled an old-age condition with some humour without losing sensitivity. Well done!

Thank you so very much! My mom suffers from MES, it’s so frustrating for her. And it’s not very well known. I was hoping to bring some light to it. 🙂
