Maybe they won’t see me

And I can hide my fear

It’s dark inside this cardboard box

They won’t find me here

They holler and they argue

Then they take it out on me

I’m sorry if I let them down

If only they would see

I’m not the reason for the pain

Or the reason for the sorrow

Understand that I would like

To see my next tomorrow

I can hear them coming closer

I can see them through the hole

I’ll hold my breath, and pray real hard

Please God, save my soul

 

 

In 2014, state agencies identified an estimated 1,580 children who died as a result of abuse and neglect — between four and five children a day. That’s 1580+ too many…. Don’t be afraid to report child abuse!
