No light to guide my way
through the blackness
that leads me

Up darkened steps
Around blind corners
Feeling the way along
Cold hallway walls

Not even the warmth
Of first morning light
Can illuminate the gloom

Or fill the void
Of nothingness
As the darkness lingers
