Up at the North Pole, the elves are busy building

Tap, tap, tap, all day long, working for the children

But Santa’s making merry, he’ll need a Corpse Survivor

Else, on Christmas Eve, he’ll need a designated driver

*For those not familiar with a “corpse survivor” you can find the info here

Imagine his surprise
When he rode onto the land
Encountering the town folk
Sitting in the stands

They looked nothing like he envisioned
He wasn’t sure what to make of the scene
Even his horse couldn’t bear to look
Cantering, back and forth, and between

Raising his voice to the village
He needed to show his nerve
For never a knight should ever
Be one without any verve

The town folk cheered him on
Hoping to see him in battle
But this brave knight just couldn’t
His nerves had started to rattle

And so ends the tale of Sir Gulpin
Whose persona did not shine
In fact, the only thing he did, was
Remain on his steed and whine

My muse is at it, once again

This time she’s sprouted wings

To make her journey faster, she says

Who believes in such a thing?

“I’m tired of sitting on the shelf”

She whines, with her usual flare

“I can’t do everything by myself!”

I yawn, like I really don’t care

And she flutters by me, nudging

I try to swat her away, but I miss

Back and forth, she flies about

I don’t think I signed up for this

But she knows just how to get me

Awakening this dreamer, she can!

It’s quite impossible, to try to sleep

Those wings of hers, sound like a fan!!

It’s way past my curfew
There goes the whole night
I’ll be up past the moon
See the sun glisten bright

The caffeine’s kicking in
Too much coffee ingested
Can’t waste any of it
When there’s creamer invested

I won’t dump a whole pot
Down the drain, just because
My body needs sleep
But my mind doesn’t pause

I have to keep writing
Get the words out of my head
There’s no time, like the present
I can sleep, when I’m dead

So I’ll make me another
Might as well stay awake
Make it into Guinness’ book
For the longest coffee break

I was invited by Pancho, for brunch
Said it was time, to meet the whole bunch
So, I went to his villa, found out he’s a guerilla
Still, he knew how to serve a great lunch

So we ate, drank, and talked for hours
About his army, and all of his powers
I left, in a hurry, before my eyes got too blurry
Poor Pancho, things were looking quite dour

Well, that was the last time I saw him
Seems he knew that his chances were slim
Said goodbye to his men, never heard from again
Now they all sit around, rather grim
