Never waste a moment, lest your garden be remiss
Cultivate it full of hope, and don’t forget the weeds
A human rendezvous, each blossom and you, a tryst
Standing back, watching it grow, simply from a seed

Ruffled in red, lips the same hue
She sits at a table, once meant for two
The champagne, now gone, an empty glass
Waiting beside her, this sorrowful lass
Hopes of togetherness, no longer exist
He left her for another, his secret tryst
She lays down her head, as sleep settles in
And dreams of a love, that never has been

As twilight gives way
To ebony skies
Reflective
