Scroll down to see the faces of nature. Someone’s always watching 😉 The last one might not be as obvious but if you look carefully to the right of the stone, you can see what appears to be a lion or dog face/body. The bigger rock is the one I wrote about in my poem “Inanimate Soul” The face no longer exists…

Legend has it, he’s watching you
Hiding in the verdant hue
Of leaves and flora, a hanging limb
That gather round, disguising him
At first you think, it’s just a stone
That lines the path, up to your home
Until you take a closer view
There’s someone looking back at you
Stumbling backward, up the hill
You notice that he’s staring, still
You shake your head and blink your eyes
But this really comes as no surprise
To see a soul, though inanimate, it’s true
Rocks have feelings, they most certainly do
Author’s Note: Hubby spotted this rock looking back at us the other night. It has been there for years, 26 to be exact, and we never noticed the face. I wonder who it could be watching over us ❤

Sometimes I lie awake at night
Wondering what tomorrow brings
Silver linings in the clouds
Sunrise made of golden rings
Trees that glisten emerald
Like gems against the sky
Flora dressed in sapphire and ruby
So much grace before my eyes
Silent waters crystal shine
Reflecting off the land
Prismatic shadows dance about
Their colors softly fanned
These beautiful adornments
No bracelet, brooch nor ring
Can ever match the splendid glory
Mother Nature always brings
Cast your eyes upon these stones
Their brilliance sparks a flame
There can be no price upon these jewels
Their cost to grand to name
