Remember to stop

Take time to rest weary bones

And smile at strangers

Wisps of clouds scatter

As daytime falls to twilight

And peace reigns mighty

Hanging around works

If you are equipped for it

Pray, you will not fall

Basking, in the warmth of sun

Soaking it in, before day is done

Relaxing here, on this quiet tree

Where no one really notices me

I blend in well, with winter gray

And I can lounge the day away

Until it’s time, to go back home

Into this tree, that’s mine, alone

Author’s note:  This is not my buddy, Gandolph.  He’s just another gray squirrel who hangs out in our tree  🙂
