I believe this is a Cooper’s Hawk.  He was scoping out the backyard and found his prey.  He had to come back for it though, once he saw me, he stopped & posed lol

img_2676This Cooper’s hawk sat as still as could be, in my neighbors tree, then swooped down, through my yard, and into my other neighbors tree.  What a spectacular sight.  I was too awestruck to take a picture!!  🙂

Born of ever flowing tresses

A mighty wing reveals, possesses

Feathered hair, full of flight

This raptors birth, enchanting sight

Her secret smile, a revelation

Knowing he is she, incarnation

Talons clasp the human flesh

Now as one, two bodies mesh
