 We are all one color
There is no difference
Between black & white
Yellow or red, blue or gold
We all fit within
The spectrum called life

We will never live
In unity
Until we remove the
Shades that block our eyes
And view the world
As it is
One color….Human

Summer Sands

Walking along the shore
Hot sand under my feet
Cool water rushing over my toes
As I playfully kick it into the air
Spraying my lips with
The taste of the Atlantic
Looking skyward as the
Bright sun warms my face
Summertime…

The Mighty Has Fallen

A mighty tree gave way
To the swing of the
Wooden handled steel bladed
Weapon that took its life

As it lay on the ground
No longer majestic
I found myself saddened
How ironic

That a tool made with the
Layers of the fallen lumber
Extinguished its very essence
So yet another could be forged

Rainbows

I am reminded of a kaleidoscope
The rainbow, a spectrum of colors
Dancing off reflecting light
The calm after the storm

The arch of splendor
Red, orange, yellow, green
Blue, indigo and violet
In descending order

I’ve often wondered
What lies below the red
Or beyond the violet
Between the infra and the ultra

We see only what we’re allowed
A crescent in the sky
A prism within our eyes
An optical illusion
