img_2172OK, so I’m not in Scotland, and this isn’t Loch Ness!!  This duck swam underwater for what seemed like forever.  When he finally surfaced, it reminded me of Nessie, the Loch Ness monster   🙂

A door unopened, here remains
Through sharpest winds and icy rains

Where it leads, I do not know
Perhaps it’s only here for show

But what is that, a creature there?
Who looks completely unaware

Nary a movement does he make
I don’t think that he’s awake!!

I’ll walk ever quietly, to the door
This one I’ve never been before

Slowly, so he does not rouse
Toward the door, just let him drowse

Pray, the hinges will not creak
When I open the portal to take a peek

This gate was in the middle of nowhere on a nature trail.  The little creature is actually the root system from a fallen tree!!
