No color to blend with the bright autumn leaves
Endlessly drifting, they move with the breeze
Carefree and easy, they float like the clouds
Playfully dancing about, through the boughs
Of life’s changing seasons, before colors do fade
This time of year, when they blend with the shade
Then slip away, like a specter, against skies of blue
Humming their melody, one we all must construe
Spirits of autumn, through the trees, they thrum
Then vanish from view, until next year comes
