They were right on the tip of her tongue
Things she needed to say to him
Perhaps she left them, where they were young
Back in the days when life was a whim
She’s different now, not so perfect
She wonders how it might have been
If he had looked beyond the face
To find the beauty that lied within
The years have passed, and she’s grown old
He’s been gone now, quite some time
How sad the bitter memories remain
Of a girl, now past her prime
