My speech becomes impeded
It’s rather hit or miss
I jumble words incoherently
Get frustrated, then there’s this

The comments from my family
They’re amused by what I say
Daughter says I should write a poem
Hubby smiles, then runs away

Tripping over one’s own tongue
I guess that’s better than my feet
Being able to laugh at myself
Even in the hour of defeat

Simply means that I’m okay
It’s my brain, I say, “misfired”
But truth of the matter is just this
What I really am, is tired!!

Tuesday night’s full moon, the Paschal Moon, named for the approach of Passover & Easter. Also known as the Pink Moon.

The Paschal full moon

A sign of Easter’s approach

Lights the path of hope

Its beauty brings renewal

To the soul of every man

Author’s Note: “Easter is observed on the Sunday following the Paschal Full Moon, which is the first full Moon that occurs on or after the March equinox.” For more info visit: Farmer’s Almanac

A candle lit, for empty tombs

An angel watches over gloom

Sheds her light in darkness, shine

Let spirits wander, not to pine

From out their corpse, they will flee

Their search, to find serenity

To rest their weary, ghostly form

To rise above the laden storm

Of humans, wandering, so lost

Who vilify, but at what cost?

Then drown their sorrows, lest repent

The blaming of, they don’t relent

They look away, and do not hear

Laments of those, so filled with fear

But they who wander, do not stay

They dare not waste another day

Instead they fly, their spirit, high

No longer tethered, they breathe a sigh

Beauty

Feathered in white

Discounts one dressed in black

Who blends with ebony bridges

Alas

Breathing in the lasting moment

Perfumed with lilac scent

Ultimate peace

But to take a step, to dream

To rise above, to the extreme

To far off lands, and unknown worlds

Where imagination becomes unfurled

A single page, an open book

You need do nothing more than look

Then read the words, escape the norm

Lose yourself, inside the storm

Of fantasies, through pages turned

To find the life, you’ve always yearned
