Dedicated to my beautiful Aunt Dee, whom I call my sister because she truly is.  Battling with MS, she has more courage than anyone I know.  I love her dearly.

She is my sanity, the voice of reason

When life sends me spiraling down

She is there, to catch me, to lift me up

When I can’t seem to find myself

She reminds me how far I’ve come

Never questioning who or what I am

Always by my side, always on my side

Even through her own battles

She is my rock, my soul sister, my friend

Letting me know I am stronger than ever

Yes, I am stronger, because of her

My thoughts about humans are sinking

Shazbat! I think you have been drinking

We’re not like this on Ork

Makes you look quite the dork

When you speak, without even thinking

This continuous flow we’ve encountered
Has made us very incapacitated

Someone’s been pouring too much wine
At this bar, called The Flux, so outdated

Still, a gathering of others, keep streaming in
They all appear to be quite inundated

By the amount of spirits making the rounds
Which is making us all nauseated

So, we’ll meet by the old clock tower
The one that’s so antiquated

Get in the DeLorean, cause that’s the one
Where the driver has been designated

Strap on your seat belt, get ready to fly
Your senses will become exhilarated

For once you are in the car with Doc
You can count on being evaporated

Hieroglyphics ~ #poetry #NaPoWriMo #AprilWriting

Can’t figure out how to read this
Perhaps it is hieroglyphics

A bunch of designs, fill the page
There’s nothing more specific

Should I sit here, on my behind
Wondering how the cavemen did it

Or make my way into the city
For the local museum’s exhibit?

Yes, I shall go down to the place
Where the writing’s on the wall

Stop, and ask the curator there
What it’s all about, this scrawl

But instead of helping me out
He shows me to a room, quite small

It’s where, he says, they secretly hide
The writer, named Nean Derthal

Covered in Constellations ~ #NaPoWriMo #AprilWriting

Nighttime lets me flourish
I stand alone, under the moon

Looking up, in wonder
I know I’ll find them soon

Brilliant, in the blackened sky
Fainter, at crack of morn

Lights of a million fantasies
In the evening sky, are born

I am covered in constellations
Bathing, in shining stars

Watching, as they sparkle
Like the sun, on a reservoir

Lights aglow above me
Tis Heaven’s chandelier

These are the ones, I know, in my heart
Will always, chase away my drear
