For years I’ve written about fortitude

Though, I may never welcome fame

As a person, I’d much rather be viewed

As someone who’s conquered the pain

So sad is a world of me, me, me
Where humans can no longer see
How troubled the times, no matter who
Decides to do the harm they do

Whether physical or mental blame
They always look for that elusive fame
That’s when the media grabs hold and runs
And those fifteen minutes have just begun

To glorify the demon, shot dead
When it should be praising the fallen, instead,
Victims dancing through the night
Unaware they became the sight

Of a madman, brazen, with ammunition
To make his dream come to fruition
They lost their lives because of hate
But the gunman also met his fate

No virgins waiting for his ascent
He’s heading down, there’s no lament
No one to mourn his deadly deeds
Not even his god, who now recedes

This is last time I will mention this horrible tragedy on my blog, as I truly pray that there won’t be another reason to write about..  As do many of us in this blogging community, I have so many thoughts left unhealed, though I imagine they never will.  As a human being, I can only cry for those who lost their lives, and continue to pray this never happens again…..
