I shall sit here on this rose
And wonder why it is I chose

To live the life of a little green frog
Who spends his time in a muddy bog

Ponder what I’ve never had
This part makes me rather sad

Then smile and think, why not for me?
I’m really more than you can see

A princely chap, I don my crown
Of glittered gold, and sparkles round

Oh, to dream of love so true
Under skies of brilliant blue

When finally, I see her there
Wandering, without a care

I call to her, she doesn’t hear
How do I get her to come near?

To share with me, that fated kiss
And grant at last, my one true wish

Under a bridge, in the forest deep

Lives a creature, in his earthen keep

When sun shines bright upon the day

It’s a promise that he’ll stay away

For if he looks, it has been known

He will surely turn to stone

But when moonlight shows about this place

That is when you’ll see his face

A mythical creature, you cannot cajole

For he is the forest’s menacing troll

The day fades
As twilight gives way
To ebony skies

Reflective
The moonlight
Guides their way

And in the quiet whispers
Of the restless breeze
Hearts in the night awaken
