A beacon guides the path

As tiny feet make their way

Down the darkened hallway

Seeking comfort in the night

A Mother’s Love

Why does it seem
Just yesterday
I held your hand
I watched you play

The time’s flown by
You’ve grown too fast
Please slow it down
Please make it last

As you get older
I do, too
Let’s back it up
Let’s start anew

I guess it’s time
To let you go
To find yourself
To let you sow

And show the world
Your shining star
A fine young man
Who will go far

And I will smile
With tears of joy
And proudly state
Yes! He’s my boy!
