She is the darkness that glows in the night

A beautiful bird against the full moon light

Sisterly love, she admires, from afar

Elegance floats, while she stands, char

Ebon as midnight, only pale skin aglow

Standing in shadows, afraid to show

Frozen, she is quiet, still, like a stone

Hoping the others won’t see her alone

But sight of her they do, indeed, espy

They hiss and they trumpet, a loud outcry

A warning to the guards, in the castle keep

Who send her away, and she silently weeps

There was nothing ugly about her

Feathers glistening, meant to stun

A tuft of white, hidden beneath her

Nature’s Beauty, cannot be undone

Gliding, gracefully, in waters green

She shines, with the morning sun

Ebony gleams, in the light of day

As a swan, she is second to none
