I decided to take a small break from writing, yet I find myself doing just that. This time I had my camera so I could document all that I have been missing.

I spent yesterday enjoying life….

snappys

I watched the snap dragons open sleepy eyes, a blast of color filling my garden.

cardinal

I listened as a cardinal sang its sweet song upon my fence.

sunlight

I looked up and basked in the glow that warms the land.

I cooled down with the cold, creamy goodness of frozen confection

my feet

I relaxed, breathing in the air surrounding me, taking it all in, not wanting to let go

I watched as the Sun tucked herself in for the night

I sat before the glowing embers of fire, contained within, leaping out

I marveled at the brilliant orb, a Supermoon, filling the sky with light

I marveled at the brilliant orb, a Supermoon, filling the night sky

And I contently laid my head upon my pillow, in hopes of awakening to greet a new day

I took time out from my busy day to simply enjoy and to thank God for all the beauty that quietly surrounds me, but I fail to admire because I am too busy doing everything else.signature

Red headed wonder
Playfully bobbing against
The bark of the old Hickory
Determined to find
Tonight’s gourmet meal
His beak digs deeper
Into the hollows of the wood
Until he is victorious
And dinner is served
