The last of winter softly falls

Dressing berries in coats of white

The harbinger of spring awaits

To bid the frost its final bite

To chase it back from whence it came

And banish cold and bitter days

Let warmth replace the icy blasts

With sunlight’s glistening golden rays

Days Once Strong

Sheltered by these palace walls

Where only echoed voices fall

Reflections of the sun, so bright

Shimmering in the morning light

She illuminates the dark, the gloom

While her earthly petals bloom

And blossom o’er this hallowed land

Where the mighty, once were grand

Standing tall, she takes their place

And fills the land with shining grace

Flocks of birds that flutter by

Dance and soar, up to the sky

Singing to her, their haunting song

As they reminisce of days once strong

Reminding her of a time so rife

Awakening her soul, renewing her life
