Signs of winter fade

As floral buds awaken

With the warmth of spring

Like the flowers, I rise with the morning sun

Awakening, as the day’s begun

Feel the warmth upon my face

Thankful I am in a place

Where I can greet the light so bright

And lose the darkness of the night

Forget my sorrows, with a simple smile

As I lie here, dreaming, for awhile

Wandering Soul

Lost in the waves of yesterday’s sorrow

Longing to capture the dreams of tomorrow

Escaping the dungeon that kept her at bay

Reaching for life that was taken away

Unlocking the tomb, her spirit awakens

Gathering back all that was taken

Yet she stands alone at the top of the stairs

Still seeking the answers to unanswered prayers

I Wish it Would Rain

Awakening, I Wish it Would Rain, Night Owl Poetry, poems, poetry, rain, spirit, thoughts

splashing-275950_960_720How I wish it would rain

So I can cleanse my window pane

And wash away the grime of the day

Or bathe my spirit, come what may

To clear my foggy mind and eyes

And look for light in hidden guise

How I wish it would rain

For thoughts anew to return again
