We are prone to compromise, yet we do not know why

Perhaps, we prefer the sunshine, instead of dark skies

I am often reminiscent about those times, I let get by

Those are the days, over which I find, I now agonize

Tell the Story Challenge II – #shortstory

My dear friend Kevin invited me to participate in Tell The Story Challenge II.

The rules are simple:
Present a picture, and then tell the story about it. It can be as short or as long as you like. Nominate at least 3 people to write a story based on any of the pictures you choose to share.

Here is my take on the picture I chose:

Safely Tucked Away

Ah, the beauty of safely tucking myself away, watching the golden sunset, and finding peace. It’s not always easy, being out here, in the middle of nowhere. I often find myself talking aloud, but there is no one here to reply. Some think it insane I should choose to live like this. I find it refreshing, away from the city, the dirt and grime of the streets. Here lies purity. Gentle waters kissed by the sun, the fiery color of the twilight, graced by a flock of birds. I imagine they are headed home for the evening, after a long day. Ah, a long day…

Every day is long for me. I can do nothing much except fish for my food, and simply watch the ocean ripple by. Nary has a boat passed this way. I wonder if they remember I am here. No worries, though, tonight, I will sit and watch the sky, kiss the sun goodbye, and pray morning graces my eyes. And if not, I will have no regrets, only that I couldn’t say goodbye to you…

Below are the pictures I’ve chosen for my nominees. Please feel free to join in the fun if you are reading this.

To my nominees… I can’t wait to read your creative stories…

This Cinquain might be disturbing to some, and I apologize for that.  But no one can justify taking the life of a child, or any human being, under any condition…

Senseless

The ways of war

Ravaging innocence

Inexplicable brazenness

Murder

Let us fully examine, what it is, we are seeing

Is our story a mere anecdote, unworthy of being?

Perhaps, we’re too busy, playing and tinkering

To realize we’re not living, but simply lingering

Many of us knew and loved Natalie and her inspiring posts here, on WP.

On Monday, April 8th, the Lord called Natalie home. I will miss her greatly, but know she will be watching from above.

Please leave your thoughts on the original post. Thank you.

* My mom was an eloquent writer–an artist with words.

* My mom was a gardener–waiting and working expectantly for spring and the roses that abound in her yard right now.

*My mom was photographer–enjoying the colors and sights that God put into this world.

*My mom was a quilter–making each quilt a special treasure for the one she was making it for.

*My mom loved me fiercely–I’m proud to call her my mom.

**Most importantly, my mom knew Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord–God forgave her for her sins because she called on Jesus in faith!

My mom met Jesus face-to-face on Monday the 8th. We will all miss her terribly but are glad we get to see her in Heaven one day!

Thank you to all mom’s blog friends. I know she loved you. Here are pics of her garden blooming right now!
