Visions, like chalk on a blank slate

Smudged and smeared, patterns

Forming pictures, erased and retraced

Breathing life into empty spaces

That lay naked, unconcealed

Like a facade, to pretty them up

Window-dressings for my thoughts

Who am I inside this shell?

Confusion sparks a living hell

Four of me, what’s the chance

I’m stuck inside a circumstance

Not quite sure what happens next

So much of me is so complex

Ready to run from a turbulent past

Stopping and standing, brave and steadfast

Falling to my knees, head in my hand

Seeking the answers I don’t understand

Hoping to find how to rid this unrest

Conquering the disturbance is now my life’s quest

I cannot take credit for this. This little ditty has been around for ages and still makes me laugh. Hope it gave you a smile, too.  Now stop hogging the wine and pass it over here!  🙂

The holiday season is here
Everyone’s filled with good cheer
But I have this cold, or so I’ve been told
Maybe you shouldn’t come near

People are shopping like crazy
I shop online, ‘cause I’m lazy
But the doctor affirms, I picked up some germs
Now everything seems a bit hazy

I wonder how that can be
Is this why I’m feeling crappy?
A box full of tissues, oh, so many issues!
Please pour me another cup of tea

I whistle when I breathe, I’m wheezing
And in between that, I keep sneezing
My nose is on fire, all I do is perspire
How can that be if I’m freezing?

Tylenol, Advil, Aleve
With these three things, I believe
I can chase this away, at least for today
Perhaps, just a little reprieve

I’m starting to feel some relief
This cold took my spirit, what a thief!
I hope it’s not longer, til I feel much stronger
Until then, I’ll just lie here, (good grief)

Whenever my arms start waving
Before I start ranting and raving
Hubby hops in the car, but doesn’t go far
Cause he knows it’s the sign of a craving

The munchies have struck me, oh my
Better hope you’re not standing nearby
See, I grab what is here, without any fear
Stress gets the best of me, sigh

My limit has now been exceeded
My doctor’s orders, unheeded
I crunch and I munch, shove in a bunch
These chips were just what I needed
