Raindrops fell in white crystalline shapes, softly floating down to touch upon the earth. Barren trees shivered, now that they had shed their autumn coats. Yes, winter was here, with its cold and its frost, and its snow. Mostly snow, like confectioner’s sugar coating the land, yet, not so sweetly. This was the time to gather the sleds, find the hills, and fly!! No cares for what lied at the bottom, just laughter from the top down. And when we were completely exhausted, homeward bound it was, massive snowball fights until we reached the front door. Waiting patiently, with snuggles, was mom, who would wrap us in a big soft blanket. Oh and the hot chocolate!! The perfect ending, drinking a big, steaming cup of liquid manna. I preferred whipped cream, others marshmallows, but it didn’t matter to any of us. We were happy, warm, and most importantly, loved. Now tucked into bed, with a goodnight kiss, we closed our eyes and dreamed of our tomorrows.

During this holiday season, I am thankful for the many childhood memories that have carried me through my life, my children’s lives and hopefully generations yet to come  🙂

disgust-clipart-smiley_disgustedFor the past several days, I have been commenting on blogs, etc, and disappearing into oblivion.  Not spam, not trash, OBLIVION!!  I’m tired of fighting with this on a constant basis.  Please forgive me if I do not comment on your blog, because how would you even know??!!.  Just know that I am reading and hoping WordPress finds an answer to  whatever issue they’re having now….sigh

heart-1577791_960_720Good evening (or morning if you’re on the other side of the pond)  🙂

I wanted to take a brief moment of your time to say thank you.  My life has been a bit chaotic lately, and I don’t always get a chance to comment on your blogs as much as I would like.  For that, I apologize but I know you all understand.

Yesterday was the third anniversary of the day I began my blog.  2013 was a whirlwind year for me, with many changes.  I took a chance and completely changed my career, to do what I’ve always loved best…write.  I didn’t know what to expect.  I didn’t know if I would be accepted. Honestly, I was scared to death.  This is where you all come in.  I have been blessed with the most amazing people I could ever find, many of you becoming dear friends over these past years.

So I say to all of you, I am extremely blessed to be part of this wonderful community.  I look forward to many years ahead with you, laughing, crying and doing what we love best, supporting each other in whatever endeavors we strive for.

Thank you so very much, from the bottom of my heart, for making me feel like I am home  🙂

❤

Although my blog is award free, I am honored that Erika Kind considered me for the Black Cat Blue Sea Award.  I was intrigued by her questions, and am delighted to answer them.  Thank you, Erika, for choosing me.  I am humbled to be among the other nominees 🙂

Please visit Erika’s blog.  Her Daily Kind Quotes are very inspirational and thought provoking, and her Song of the Day gets you revved up and ready to go.  Erika’s insights to others, through her own experiences, makes it easy to fall in love with her blog..and her!

“This award is for bloggers who strive to write for everybody, and no matter how many viewers they get, make an impact on a reader. This award is an expression of gratitude to the nominee. It should be awarded to anybody that you choose deserves it and it doesn’t mean that they must have hundreds of followers and likes.” – Ella

The rules of this award are:

  • Anybody nominated can nominate eight other bloggers.
  • The nominee answers three questions posed by the nominator.
  • The questions you ask while nominating can be any three questions.
  • If any of the questions asked are offensive or the nominee simply does not want to answer, the nominee does not have to answer them to earn the award.
[And I would add: notify your nominees about their nominations at their blogs].

Here are the three questions that Erika asked:

What do you love most about yourself?

hmmm, you may have me on this one.  As Erika knows, confidence is not one of my finer points.  But I’m working on it.  I would have to say it’s the fact that I’m writing, living a dream.  It was something I always did, but never thought anyone would care.  I’m finding out, through comments, etc, that I was wrong, and it humbles me to think I have reached another soul through my words.

What do you love most about someone who challenged you the most? (No irony, I mean it!)

This one is easy for me.  A dear friend, always, and I mean always, challenged me to be me.  He wouldn’t let me off easily, but he did it in a loving and supportive way.  He is the reason I began this blog and part of the reason I write today.  Sadly, he passed away in November of last year.  Do I still hear him pushing?  You bet.  Do I know he’s still behind me all the way?  Absolutely!

What do you love most about your current life?

My family.  I am surrounded by the most amazing people.  The beautiful life around me, nature, skies, anything and everything under Heaven.  There is never a day I forget to say thank you for opening my eyes to all this wonderment.  I am truly blessed.

Thank you again, Erika, for nominating me!  Since most of the blogs I follow are award free, I am going to list just a few of the people I think fit this award perfectly.  They’re free to answer the same three questions Erika asked me and are under no obligation to do so  🙂
