Just a quick note, to my friends, far and near

Please don’t think I ignore those I hold dear

Your comments always mean to the world to me

I try to reply back, as long as I can see

The black of your text, saying hi or whatever

But WordPress, again, is squashing my endeavor

I have found you scattered, in the spam, on my blog

Good thing I keep checking, that silly ole log

So forgive me, for taking so long to respond

I’ve finally saved you from drowning, in the WP pond

A Bit of an Update ~ The Days Ahead

Good evening/morning, dear friends,

I’ll try not to ramble, but please forgive me if I do  🙂

Most of you who have been following my blog for some time know how upside down my life has been over the past year and a half.  My daughter had been in and out of the hospital for most of 2016 and a part of the beginning of 2017.  She suffers from Sjogren’s Syndrome, among other things, and she’s only 27.  It breaks my heart to see someone so young struggling to get through a day that others think nothing of.  For those of you who pray, please keep her in your thoughts.  Thank you.  🙂

As for me, well, that’s another can of worms.  I suffer from Transverse Myelitis and was recently diagnosed with “essential tremor“.  To say this freaked me out, is putting it mildly.  There is no cure.  They will get progressively worse.  So, if I miss commenting or liking your post, please don’t hold it against me.  My days are filled with trying to take care of everything else, including beginning to pack as we’ll need to sell our home.  There usually isn’t time to take care of me, but looks like I won’t have much choice.  It’s getting harder to type, so I will eventually need to switch to my Dragon software and go voice to type.  I’m so frustrated over all of it.

I love you all, and always appreciate your support, from the bottom of my heart.  I haven’t forgotten you.  Just be patient with me.  I’ll figure it all out.  I’m not a quitter by any means.  I only know how to fight for what I want and this is a battle I am sure to win!!

Question for Everyone ~ WordPress has me puzzled

Hi Gang!

Here’s my dilemma:

I was going through the blogs I follow, and doing some cleaning up, when I discovered something quite odd.  People I have been following forever, are no longer found in my “manage sites followed”, not even when I search by blog name or URL AND I’m not even following myself anymore!  HOWEVER, I still get the emails when they (and I) post!!

Has anyone else noticed this happening with their blog?

Dorinda

Nana ~ a true story

Authors Note:  This is based on true facts surrounding the death of my Grandmother.  She passed away in 1973.  She may have left this mortal world, but is forever with me, in spirit, hope and most definitely in love.  Thank you for reading  ❤

1961. I was not even a year old when this photo was taken. She was always this beautiful in my eyes….

It feels like it was only yesterday. The sky was clear, the moon full but dull. There was no brightness surrounding it, as there was only gloom within my heart. You had passed earlier that day, a piece of me taken with you. The woman who was raising me to be strong, caring, loving, was now gone. I was 12, and just beginning to understand the meaning of death. I didn’t understand yours. You weren’t here long enough to teach me the whys. Only that it was part of life. I remember the tears, flowing from every person who walked in our door that night. And yet, I still didn’t understand why you were taken, all these others who so desperately needed you, left alone. You remained quiet in your final days, a silence broken only by the hope of seeing your eyes open again, of holding your hand, telling you things would be fine. But they weren’t, then came the call, in early morning. You had passed. I didn’t get to say goodbye. And so I sat, on the sofa, staring out the glass door. A glimpse of light caught my eye, and I slowly turned my head to look up. Shining down from the moon, beams of light in the shape of a cross, the bottom reaching our back lawn. It was then I knew you were safely home and in God’s loving hands. It was your way of telling me you were okay and that I, too, would be able to carry on, living the life you taught me so well.

An Open Poem to #NJ Governor Chris Christie (regarding government shutdown)

Author’s Note:  For those living in the states, I’m sure you’re aware of the government shutdown in New Jersey, just in time for the holiday weekend.  It’s so disappointing.  These are just my feelings toward what’s going on.

Dear Mr. Governor
And I use the term quite loosely
There’s something very wrong here
And I say this quite profusely

You’ve shut down government offices
Sent the people off on furlough
Just how will they feed their families?
We’d really like to know

You’ve closed the state run beaches
As the height of the season begins
But your family gets to play on them
Much to our chagrin

I hope you enjoy your holiday
On the sand, and in the waves
Just keep in mind, we’re watching
So you best not misbehave

And to think you want to use
A surplus from Horizon
To cover up another mess
It’s really not surprising

Forget about renewing
Your license or registration
The DMV is also closed
Due to government regulation

Stop blaming all your carelessness
On the others that surround you
It’s time to stand up like a man
Take the blame for what’s around you

Our state has lost the stature
Where once we shouted, proud
Thanks to this political bickering
New Jersey’s mocked out loud

Your record with the people
Has hit an all-time low
I’m sure I’m not alone to say
It’s definitely time to go

By this I mean we’ve lost
Any respect we may have had
Shame on you, for messing up
As governor, you’re really bad
