When morning light begins
And says goodnight to moon

I try to escape what’s in
The house, this awful tune

A song that lingers on and on
It’s one not easy to forget

Sounding more like a drone
And eventually, one, I regret

To hear it again, I don’t wanna
It’s enough to make me dread

Kind of reminds me of Manamana
Now try getting it out of your head

Still my daughter sings to me
This song she learned so well

And all it ever brings to me
Is a headache, and a dizzy spell

Author’s Note: For those of us with children, this song was a staple in the house for years. The Elephant Show and its theme song was always being sung. Just minutes ago, I told my daughter the prompt, and yes, you guessed it, she started singing it. She’s 29… lol  Never heard it?  Listen HERE – Good luck getting it out of your head.

Do you ever wonder, what it must think?

When in the bathroom, you make a stink

Does it cringe or does it start to sweat?

I’ve often wondered, but haven’t asked, just yet

After being neatly rolled with its fellow sheets

A human hand grabs and heads for a seat

Right then, does the toilet paper feel its defeat?

Or does it, instead, feel more replete?

After all, we are using it, for what it is meant

Though asked, I’m sure it would give its dissent

Stand on the roller, and proclaim to the crowd

Nothing I did here, is making me feel proud!

With its roll now depleted, its job is finished, so they say

Until Mother Nature calls, and we’re headed back its way

A bridge to find a new world to explore

Not one just outside my front door

Some place far away, a simpler kind

Nothing to carry, a load off my mind

A bridge, to the warm heart of a land

To a country where there are no demands

Across the equator, and southern plain

Friendly people walking down the lane

In Africa, Malawi, holds these treasures

Landlocked, the lake so pure, a pleasure

Muli bwanji, is the way to say hello

Always extend a greeting, as you go

Happy people, grace this humble place

And surely bring a smile, to a hardened face

It was only a matter of time
And everyone watching knew

No matter how hard he tried
Sam was always dropping Lou

It became a daily occurrence
People drove for miles to see

If Lou would finally realize
Sam was doing it purposely

He got a kick out of watching
A warped sense of humor, the nut

Ladies walking by, would scowl
At poor Lou, sitting there, on his butt

Always vowing to seek revenge
Sam knew it would never happen

Foibles and follies, it’s who they were
Left the folks laughin’ and clappin’

I thought April’s prompts were done

Then along comes Will Robinson

Can this get any stranger?

Oh wait, Danger! Danger!

Michelle sure has a weird sense of fun!

But I have to admit, I don’t mind

It’s kind of my way to unwind

I go to some faraway place

Where I can get “lost in space”

And be away from the day to day grind!
