A silhouette against the sun
The wind takes over sails
As pirates slumber in the night
In hopes, the wind won’t fail
Lest they be forever adrift
In a sea, oft unforgiving
Battering waves, tossed about
Yet, it’s how they go on living
The life they choose, no matter
What others, of them, may think
They’ll stash abundant treasure
As they watch the others sink
Into the deepest oceans
Lost, in a battle of greed
Thirsty for blood, they conquer
No matter how much you plead
They take it all, there’s nothing left
Your ship, lay barren and wasted
And you cling to life, but lose the fight
Your own blood, you now have tasted
