You disappeared, out of sight

Swallowed by the darkened sky

A sliver, you couldn’t hold your ground

Even Venus, with her brilliance

Was no match for the storm

On this clouded summer night

 

Author’s Note:  I was able to catch a glimpse of the young moon and Venus, until the storm clouds took over, and they disappeared into the night.
