He left before the morning light
His scent, lingered, in the air
She wrapped herself around it
To ease the chill, her body, bare
Private thoughts invaded
Her mind was set on fire
He was all she wanted near
He was her one desire
Yet, sitting alone, she pondered
Was her love for him misled?
Perhaps, she would just have to settle
For memories of him, in her bed

So wonderfully done! I love wondering poems! Interesting choices! We all seem to want to guide and control fate, don’t we?

Thanks so much, Chuck! It was more melancholy, really, not trying to control fate, but wondering why she allowed it to happen in the first place. π
