Adorned, I hide my face
Inside this mask of blue
Silver painted, decorated
To keep myself from view
Where no one knows about me
Or wonders who I am
I’ll blend in, pretend again
When I’m really just a sham
You once stood by my side
Unmasked and unafraid
I didn’t learn, and now I yearn
Twas you that I betrayed
In the mirror, my reflection
Glances back at me, I sigh
For my eyes can see, in reality
I’m the one who said goodbye

Did that picture inspire you to write this or did you find the picture after you wrote it? It’s amazing how well they complement each other. 🙂

A little of both. I already had the mask part then added the mirror. It’s awesome when I’m able to find a photo that works with something I’ve already written 😊
