There it was again, that feeling of spiraling out of control. She kept spinning around in circles, like being caught on the “Tilt-A-Whirl” at the amusement park. The constant in and out, picking up speed, slowing down, was making her nauseous. Each time she would try to escape, the spin increased, and she just tried to hold on. At least the view was interesting, that is when she had enough time to admire it, before the spinning began again. It was fine at night, though. The dizziness disappeared, as suddenly as the lights. When the dark crept in, she was able to sit quietly and finally relax. That’s when she saw him. He was wearing some kind of uniform. She jumped, he was speaking to her but she couldn’t understand him. But she could see he was getting frustrated by the fact he began gesturing to her. She finally stood and got closer to him, but the spinning began again. Quickly, she sat back down. He had had enough. He hollered, almost with an echo in his voice,
“MA’AM?”
“Yes”
Finally, he got a reply.
“It’s time to go.”
“Go? Where?”
“Home, ma’am, the malls closed”
“The mall?”
Yes, ma’am, you’ve been riding the revolving doors all day. Time to go.”
