No longer blue, skies turning gray
Colorful atmosphere drifting away
Melancholy thoughts invade, unkind
Ominous, clouds float, past my mind
But what if the blue returned, for a day
Bringing the warmth of the sun
Would we be happier, brighter, this way?
Enlightened by what has been done
No, the sky will go back to its colorless display
And our minds will continue to wander, astray
Chasing the unreachable, wondering why
The colors of autumn must pass, quickly by

This makes me look at an autumn day in a whole new way. A feeling of changes to come, the brief period it lasts-makes us appreciate the short beauty of fall. This touched upon things we feel, but, cannot express. A very pretty piece about a warm time of year.
