Black and white, to shades of gray
Colors slip beyond the day
Shadows cover evergreen
No longer does the sunlight gleam
Darkened clouds obscure the light
Stark and barren in the night
Lands, once beautiful, it seems
Lost, within a monochrome scene

Lovely poem, Dorinda. I love how color slips away with the sun and rises in the morning. Part of the magic of the world. 🙂

Your words fit the scenery I experienced in the Egyptian desert many years ago when I was there in the middle of the night and the full moon came out!

That must have been spectacular! Sometimes, black and white speaks volumes when color simply cannot! Thank you, Erika!

It looked like the pictures of the moon. Surreal in some way. The sky was amazing! Black and white can create atmospheres colors never can!
