This beautiful crane makes his home in Packanack Lake, Wayne, NJ. He posed so perfectly for this shot, I had to share 🙂 I’m thinking of making this a weekly post, since I have so many beautiful lakes around me.

well it looks remarkedly like this one I took, and I can assure you that this is a Great Blue Heron. Yours just is perhaps younger in age and not fully developed.

welcome. The younger ones frequently don’t look like the adults in the bird world. I’ve been fooled by birds I had to lookup on the Net – that were just younger birds that I did know from simple visuals.
