At the peak is the High Point Monument, a 220-foot (67 m) obelisk, built in 1930 as a war memorial.

While New Jersey waves from the other side.
We stopped here on our way back from the beautiful Pocono Mountains. I have lived in New Jersey for over 50 years and I have never been here before. The experience was exhilarating!!
Here’s a bit of info, in case you ever want to visit 🙂
High Point State Park – High Point, in Montague, Sussex County, New Jersey, in the Skylands Region, is the highest elevation in the state at 1,803 feet (550 m). It is southeast of Port Jervis, New York. High Point is the highest peak of the Kittatinny Mountains. Three states – New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania – can be seen from the top.

Awesome! I am, was… don’t know… haha! Still don’t look for heights, but I was standing at the Grand Cayon without anything between me and the gap of 3000 feet down. I wasn’t afraid at all but only completely astonished which made this possible! Off my bucket list too… haha!
