A torn soul, he lost his way
Searched to find his heart
Down the shadowed road he walked
Turned back again, to start
A newer path, his freedom rang
From all he held inside
Knowing he could conquer it
He felt this sense of pride
For those who thought he needed more
They really did not know him well
The key was held within him
To unlock this living hell
From demons he would battle
Till he defeated them, one by one
A valiant warrior, determined
No longer a forgotten sun

Profound…..Yes! ‘Key’ lies within…..but…very often some help is essential…. 😉 Hugs!

The crucial sentence “the key was held within him”. That poem touched me deeply, Dorinda. So many are living in the darkness although they have the key within them to open the door to their freedom.

Very true, Erika. It’s a difficult path, one that others need to take a step back and realize it isn’t so easy to overcome.
