Ivory keys twisted, in worn out shapes

A reminder of days gone by

I hear the melody, your fingers play

And I heave a gentle, breathless sigh

For my heart recalls your sweet caress

Each note, such music to my ears

Your withered hands, so freely glide

I can see them through my tears

Together, we were a symphony

Our lyrics, were life’s perfection

And I lay this yellow rose to rest

As a symbol of our joy and affection

For no longer do I hear you play

You left me, much too soon

Yet I shall never forget your song

My love and the piano, forever attune
