If you sit very quietly, still as can be
I will read you this book, ‘A Dragon’s Story’”

“Yes, read me a story, by candlelight’s glow
Tales of the dragons, who lived long ago
Tell me about how they ruled over land
Was it their fire that made them so grand?”

I’ll tell you a story if you quiet your words
It’ll be very hard if I cannot be heard

“Or was it their towering, majestic stance,
That could frighten you away with a single glance?
Did they capture the village in a fiery blaze,
Leaving the people in a smoke filled haze?”

Too many questions in this evening’s sitting
Perhaps another night would be more fitting?

“Or can you tell me, were they more like me?
The one who sits quietly, listening to thee”
