Shall I climb this tethered vine?
Will it lead me to the sky?
Trust its strength to hold me
And carry me up high?

Or will it break
Like the weakened vine
That dangles down below?
And leads into the great abyss
I left not long ago?

As I ponder, wonder why
Which path is mine to take?
Will I know I’ve chosen right?
Is the decision mine to make?
