Red with the glow
Of eternal night

And blanketing stars
Hiding the brilliance
Sent from afar

Away from thine eyes

Do I dare wonder
What awaits me
A first impression
A lasting response
To the unknown
Do I trust my instinct
A gut reaction
An impulse
Or do I question
Myself, my tendency
To judge the unknowing
Defining what is wrong
And what is right
Allowing my conscience to lead me
Down a blind path
A prerequisite to knowing
What awaits me

Asking
Will it be right again

She opens her heart

Wondering

Hoping
