Fifteen years, in the blink of an eye

How time has passed, and still I cry

God called you home, not on a whim

The time had come, to be with Him

And though we needed you, right here

He needed you more, that much is clear

And when I look up, to see the stars

I know one twinkle, is where you are

Shining down upon us, our guiding light

Always in our hearts, forever bright

In loving memory of my Uncle Gino (1953-2003), a man who showed me the true meaning of kindness.  I miss him every day…

dadme
Wasn’t it just yesterday
You called to say hello
To catch up on my crazy life
And joke about the snow

The minutes flew by, much to fast
Like the snowflakes swirling round
We laughed so much, my stomach hurt
Our laughter knew no bounds

We promised once again to call
On New Year’s Eve, to say
The best is yet to come, alas
It didn’t end that way

You left before the year was done
God had other plans for you
The telephone would never ring
With “hello there”, this is true

Forever, Daddy, you’re always here
We’re never far apart
Every time I look up to the stars
I feel you in my heart
