Sewn together with a thread

Spun by an invisible force

Wrapped between sleeping floral buds

Nature’s reminder that life

Will once again awaken

With the promise of spring

Warmth teased the winter day

Sunshine melted cold away

But such a ruse it did impart

With winter’s icy frozen heart

Dropping snowflakes, one by one

Clouds did cover up the sun

Still spring was lurking ever near

With yet another sweet premiere

Reminding him, his days have past

When spring, again, arrives at last

The last of winter softly falls

Dressing berries in coats of white

The harbinger of spring awaits

To bid the frost its final bite

To chase it back from whence it came

And banish cold and bitter days

Let warmth replace the icy blasts

With sunlight’s glistening golden rays
