Good afternoon/evening/morning!

I hope the day is bringing you much joy!

Today, I celebrate four years since publishing my first piece of poetry on WordPress.  What an amazing journey it has been for me,  I have met the most wonderful people, have been inspired by so many more, and look forward to what  2018 has in store for me.

Technically, I began my blog in October 2013, but didn’t share any poetry until January 8, 2014.   So does that make today my Poemversary or my Poetday? lol

Thank you, to all of you, for your love and encouragement.  I know I’ve said it before, but I hope you all realize how much it means to me.  Your comments, likes and friendship, make my heart sing   ❤

~Dorinda

Friendship, is two souls

Sharing a singular space

Together, as one

The object they’re sitting on looks like a beached shark.  It’s actually the top part of a rock in Pines Lake.  What are the odds the water set this scene?  🙂

So many bridges
Once crossed, once burned
So many lessons yet to learn

Branches of life
So grateful, so grand
Coming together, hand in hand

Carry us across
This great divide
Together, where we meet, astride

Grasp, we can,
These tethered ropes
To fill our lives, with love and hope

Make these bridges
Strong with heart
Let them never again be torn apart

In the hours approaching darkness, I looked up to a clouded sky

Hoping God could hear me, and the words within my sigh

And soon the gray of night, parted with a shimmering star

And I knew deep in my heart, that it was you, from afar

Already watching over, all you called your own

With the grace of God, you shine, from your everlasting home

RIP dear friend…..

I lost a very dear friend today.  I didn’t know what else to do but write…. he holds a special place in my heart and I will miss him….

Father and son
One half the age
Of the other
Laugh like six year olds
Hiding secrets
From their mother

Two men
Sharing life
So much more like brothers
A bond everlasting
Through thick and thin
A friendship like no other

The two men pictured above are my husband and my son.  At times I wish I could give them a time out but they make me laugh too hard!!  Two amazing men I am very lucky to have in my life.
