Family traditions, we must always carry on

Gathered together, at the table, we pray

For the bountiful life we are so thankful for

Not just on Thanksgiving, but every day

It’s hard to believe three years have passed

It seems like it was only yesterday, but alas

You left this earth, and found a new place

But deep in my heart, you left a huge space

Friends til the end, though often, we’d fight

Eventually, always making everything right

Promised to be the last two standing, we did

But you left before me, I’m still here, on this grid

I miss the laughter, with those silly tales you’d tell

But I know, up there, you’re giving somebody hell

Miss you, buddy… In loving memory of Paul Pannone 1960 – 2015

Hey down there, can you see me?

I’m waving, from way up here

Tethered, to this mechanical arm

In space, the “Final Frontier”

Surely, you cannot miss me

I’m floating around in midair

My comrades said I wouldn’t do it

So, I’m really out here, on a dare

Now comes the part that’s the hardest

Seems the shuttle was on its last trip

Can someone please come and get me?

They left me hanging in space, with no ship!

Little Lady Lily, such a silly forest sprite

Got stuck in a tree, and stayed there all night

Til a bird landed on her, but it couldn’t speak elf

Lady Lily didn’t care, she’d have to teach it herself

Soon, many feathered friends, learning the words

Did pass them along, to all the other birds

The little forest creatures, kept chattering away

Seems all this time, they’d had an awful lot to say

Lady Lily didn’t care, decided to build a new home

Up in the tree, a little nest, the only one, with a dome

Friends till the end, forever, they cried
On the battlefield, beaten, tis when they died

Now locked together, by their own man-made chains
Only problem about them, was neither had a brain

You’d think by now, they would know how to break
The bindings around them, how much could it take?

But emotions ran high, and soon they did fight
Yelling at each other, all day and all night

When one would go left, the other went right
Things got so nasty, the neighbors took flight

Then the Devil himself, called them to him
Demanded they behave, and then, on a whim

He decided the two, must forever stay
The way they came to him, on that fateful day

And he went a step further, making sure he was clear
No more arguing nor fighting, or they’d disappear

But that wasn’t the only thing that made them cranky
He named one of them Clinky, and the other one, Clanky
