The chill in the air, ever so slight
A hint of winter’s calling
Barren lay the autumn trees
Their leaves no longer falling
The smell of fires burning
Lovers, warm beside the glow
Crystals form on window panes
From the touch of newest snow
Frosted evergreen needles
Red berries shimmering bright
Seasons changing once again
Ever so quickly, overnight
