Had a knack for stealing
Once they got into your garden
They’d send flower beds reeling
Sneaked in at midnight
Took whatever they could
Then sneaked out, come morning
Even taking some wood
Til one day they faltered
Caught off guard, you could say
They found it quite awkward
So, in the garden they’d stay
Turned to mere ornaments
To decorate the flowerbeds
These gnomes of Netherland
Are now American, instead

Cute story and love the rhyming. Love the gnomes pictured in the picture as they do not look anything like the generic gnomes you get in North America. I swore I would never have those gnomes in the garden. But the one in the image YES!
