The lovely Helene of Willow Poetry has challenged us with “What do you See?”. You may write a poem, haiku, tanka or short story that represents what you see or feel within you. More info can be found in the link below.
I’ll count to ten
I know not when
I’ll find the ones now hiding
They’ve run from me
Far from this tree
I hear their giggles subsiding
I wonder if they’ll notice
I haven’t moved an inch
Cause I can see, just where they are
This game is such a cinch!
I think I will stay right here
Use the tree to rest my bones
Dunk my toes into the lake
Across the water, skip some stones
That definitely sounds better to me
Than to run around in the sun
Sorry, gang, you’re on your own
I’ve found my own way of fun

Can relate completely – when no energy must be spent on people who don’t want to be found. Beautiful piece! Love it

It is a place and often unseekable. So sweet and innocent.

That sounds like something I would have done when I was a kid.

I’ve always wanted to try to skip stones, but I have this dreaded notion that my hand will spasm and I’ll wind up throwing it backwards and hitting someone!! lol

Okay, now you made me laugh. My kids were championship bowlers. I got to live through them. I bowled but only for 2 years before fate decided to hand me this life sentence. 😦
