Somewhere, buried upon your dish
Is something a bit crispy, but so delish
Yet, in the center, it’s soft, warm and chewy
And what comes next, makes them quite gooey
No need for the butter, bananas will do
Add one scoop of vanilla, or maybe two
Drizzle with chocolate, drizzle some more
Imagine, now, what your mouth has in store
Delectable sweetness, together, blended
Bite after bite, they all taste so splendid
Don’t hurry through, delight in each bite
Perhaps, we should’ve made more, in hindsight
No matter, there’s always tomorrow to savor
Waffles and ice cream, and their wonderful flavor

So is my husband. He just went from pre diabetic to diabetic last year. He tests his blood sugar every morning and monitor everything he eats since then. He eats sweet but moderately. ๐

I’ve been diabetic for about 5 years now. Finally got my sugar under control. It’s tough. ๐

I know how it goes. He used to like white bread. He only eats bread now when we go out. He cuts down a lot of carbohydrates. It’s okay with me because I only have a piece of wheat toast every now and then. We don’t eat desserts or cake regularly. I only buy things like that when I go grocery shopping with an empty stomach. ๐

Same here, hardly any carbs for me. if I do have it, my sugar usually spikes, so i know I’m carb-resistant. It’s a huge adjustment, but a necessary one to keep on living. ๐

Yep. One of my favorite “I don’t wanna cook tonight” dinners, waffles and ice cream. Isn’t maple syrup one of the major food groups?
