Bright lights, all around me, blinding,
Noisy streets, surround me, reminding
There’s no place to turn to, for quiet
Never been to the city? You must try it!
Different faces, and different names
Nothing here, is ever the same
Skyscrapers towering, larger than life
Hop in a taxi cab, things looking rife
Take in a show, have a drink at a bar
Go everywhere, find something bizarre
There’s nothing like it, not here, nor there
You’ll love taking in, NYC’s Times Square

Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos 
It reminds me of every city I’ve been to: Los Angeles where I was born, New York that I’ve visited many times, Seattle, WA, Sacramento, CA, Las Vegas, NV, Reno, NV, Chicago, IL, Toledo, OH, Cincinnati, OH. Cities are very alive, very aware, very crowded and noisy. I love visiting them, but I do love coming home to my less crowded and noisy small town.

I have to admit that New York has a personality missing in any of the others, with perhaps that of San Francisco, CA

I love San Francisco for its old world charm. I love NYC for the uniqueness you can find no matter where you look.

That’s the Times Square I know..alive & vibrant! I can understand why some people don’t take to NYC, but if you have an open mind, it’s the most incredible place. It’s been too long since I was there!

We always loved our trips to the city, even though it was a two-hour drive, but were glad to escape the bustle at the end of the day, lol
